This submission is a conceptual design prototype for a social system to enable holidays for those who struggle to access time off alone with their loved ones due to financial constraints. The wellness, relaxation and self help industry has exploded into the luxury realm and now self care seems to be a essential decadence that has to be afforded. We all know the restorative power of spending time with those you love or just time alone. Not at home. not at the park, not for a day trip. To get away. In an unknown surrounding in an uncommon landscape. A sense of adventure and exploration. The capacity to regenerate and be open to experience the new. Holidays restore and rejuvenate. Relationships, self, capacity, challenge perspectives and bring hope. To model a design for a social system to enable the capacity to experience the universal benefits of the holiday despite economic adversity. Poverty, and an incapacity to increase your income beyond your outgoings leaves people in need of holidays, rest and restoration. The intangible benefits of a holiday, to mark time and punctuate memories is no longer a reality based dream for everyone. It should be a compulsory component of human living. Not a luxury.
