Break the Frame uses storytelling as a tool to empower precarious workers to collectivise. The work incorporates processes such as puppetry, a hacked CNC machine and a musical score as a tool to deconstruct the narratives around ‘progress’ in relation to precarious labour practices and technological development. Seeking to challenge establishment claims that technology progresses autonomously of society, and that people inevitably have to adapt to the tools offered, often at the expense of their livelihoods and rights as workers.
