Fear of snakes and little animals

Title: Fear of snakes and little animals: Utopia and Entopia in landscapes
Speakers: Thomas Doxiadis

Outline: Could Utopias be the problem? Usually considered a good thing, they embody individual and collective visions of a better tomorrow. But what if the world to treasure is that which already exists? What if utopian thinking is the destroyer of worlds, in the ceaseless human drive to create the other and the elsewhere? Landscape Architect Thomas Doxiadis presents a case for design through respectfully crawling through the ground rather than looking up at the clouds.
